Agartala, Sept 19 (FD) The Chief Justice of the High Court of Tripura, Aparesh Kumar Sinha, has taken a significant step in the case of those who were unfortunately retrenched. He has formed a full bench to hear and address the crucial writ petition No. WP(C) 893 on September 26 at 10:30 a.m. What's more, the Chief Justice has ordered that the entire proceedings of the full bench be live-streamed on the official YouTube channel of the High Court.
The High Court's Registrar (Judicial), Mou Banerjee, asked both parties' knowledgeable solicitors in a notification not to ask for adjournments.
They are also asked to submit written notes, if any, three days before the hearing and exchange copies amongst themselves.
This follows a previous hearing last month, during which a division bench led by Justice Amarnath Hour decided that the mass dismissal of teachers was unlawful.
Justice Arindam Lodh, on the other hand, suggested that the case be considered by a bigger or special bench.
The illegally retrenched teachers, who have faced immense hardship, now place their hopes in this pivotal hearing, as over 160 of them have tragically passed away since their termination in April 2020, with over thirty of them resorting to suicide. Advocate Amrit Lal Saha has been instrumental in representing their case, citing laws and constitutional provisions. FD SB
