Heavy rainfall due to cyclone mocha may hit Tripura by tonight

Agartala, May 13 (FD) The Meteorological department Agartala on Saturday predicted that due to cyclone mocha, heavy rainfall and thundershower will hit the isolated places of several districts of Tripura in the next 24 hours.
According to the IMD report, the rainfall due to deep depression over southeast Bay of Bengal could cost devastative effect on various isolated areas of the state.
The concerned departments have already alerted all the district magistrates and asked them to be fully prepared for rain.
However, looking at the current situation, an advisory asked DM to regularly assess the situation, alert NDRF/SDRF/TSR/Fire and ES/Trained Volunteers and CRT and identify where to respond. Put them on standby when needed and push them to work immediately. District authorities were asked to monitor river flows, embankments and inundation areas as well as keep equipment like boats, life jackets and other flood rescue items ready and take preventive and preparedness measures immediately.
