Health Camp Benefits Villagers in Dhalai With Free Medical Services

Agartala, May 22 (FD) A health camp was organised on Friday at Purnada Royaja Para under the jurisdiction of Manikpur Police Station and the Area of Responsibility of Thuiyachandra Para Post in Dhalai district. The programme was conducted in association with the Chief Medical Officer (CMO), Dhalai, with the objective of providing healthcare support to villagers living in remote areas.
During the camp, a total of 63 local residents received medical consultation, treatment, and free medicines. The medical services were arranged under the supervision of Dr. Sahil Debbarma, Medical Officer of the 8th Battalion TSR, who attended the camp along with healthcare staff.
As part of the healthcare initiative, malaria screening tests were also conducted among villagers. Altogether 90 residents underwent testing, and four persons were found positive for Plasmodium Vivax (PV) malaria infection.
Following the detection of the cases, necessary medicines and immediate treatment support were provided through Manikpur Primary Health Centre (PHC). Officials stated that such health camps are important for early detection of diseases and ensuring timely medical assistance in rural and interior areas.
Local villagers appreciated the initiative and welcomed the efforts taken to improve healthcare access in the region. FD JK
