Los Angeles: Popular search engine Google joined lovers across the world to wish the globe on Happy Valentines Day on Monday by decorating their homepage with a dramatic doodle.
In the doodle, two drops of water could be seen moving apart from one another on a sad note and then uniting to form a heart.
Google website described the doodle as: Rain or shine, will you be mine? Todays Valentines Day Doodle celebrates the most romantic day of the year, when people all over the world express affection to their lovers, friends, and partners through gifts, greetings, and more.
Did you know that during the Middle Ages, European countries like England and France believed that February 14th was the start of mating season for birds? They associated this phenomenon with love and began romantic celebrations soon after. The holiday became more popular throughout the world in the 17th century, it said.
