Govt taking steps to promote Ayurveda, has plans to set-up Ayurvedic College in Tripura: CM

Agartala, Oct 25 (FD) Tripura government is taking several initiatives to promote Ayurveda and has a plan to set-up an Ayurvedic College in the state, Chief Minister Dr Manik Saha said on Monday.
Inaugurating a programme on the 7th National Ayurveda Day, the Chief Minister Dr Manik Saha said that his government has plan to extend Ayurvedic treatment practices in the state including setting up an Ayurvedic College.
He said there are many plants available in the state which have medicinal values and there are many scopes for cultivating medicinal plants as the soil and climatic conditions are suitable for such plants.
Since after the BJP government formed in the centre under the leadership of prime minister Narendra Modi, importance to Ayurveda, the oldest medical system, has been increased, Dr Saha said, adding many steps to promote this system which is India's contribution to the world has also been increased.
Chief Minister said our aim is to reach Ayurveda to each house and described various positive sides of this system.
Dr Sushil Kumar Joshi, Vice Chancellor of Uttrakhand Ayurved University who was present on the occasion also apprised the audience about the utility of this Indian system. FD PD
