Agartala, Sep 29 (FD) Representatives of Tea Board of India and the Government of Tripura held a meeting, on further marketing of locally produced tea nationally and internationally, at the State Guest House on Wednesday.
Secretary of Industry and Commerce department Abhishek Chandra, Executive Director of NE regional office of Tea Board of India Arunita Phukan Yadav and Deputy Director Kamla Chandra Baishya, Controller of Licensing of Tea Board of India Rajnigandha Shil Naskar, Chairman of TTDC Santosh Saha and Managing Director Manik Lal Das were present in the meeting.
The Secretary of Industry and Commerce department, Abhishek Chandra, stressed on setting up of Tea Auction Centre in the state for publicizing and marketing state's tea nationally and internationally.
The Secretary also informed that the state government will extend its helping hand in setting up Tea Auction Centre in the state. e-auction, e-procurement, e-selling and e-marketplace were also discussed in the meeting.
At the end of the meeting, while speaking to the media, TTDC Chairman Santosh Saha said, the state government has been demanding setting up of Tea Auction Centre in the state since long to the Tea Board of India.
To scrutinize the possibility of setting up Tea Auction Centre in the state, a conference was held with buyers, sellers and brokers today with the joint initiative of the Tea Board of India and TTDC.
He informed that advisories will be provided on different matters to the buyers, sellers and brokers on setting up Tea Auction Centre in the state in this conference.
Assurance has also been given to provide assistance on behalf of the state government in setting up of Tea Auction Centre in the state. FD PD JK
