Agartala, June 27 (FD) Tripura Governor Indrasena Reddy Nallu paid a visit to Ashray, the Retired Employees' Quarter located at Kunjaban, on Friday morning to review the facilities available for elderly residents and interact with those living at the shelter home. The visit highlighted the state government's continued emphasis on the welfare and well-being of senior citizens.
Upon his arrival, the Governor was warmly received by Tapan Kumar Das, Special Secretary of the Department of Social Welfare and Social Education, along with the residents of Ashray. During the interaction, the Governor spent time speaking with the elderly residents, listening to their experiences and encouraging them to maintain a healthy and active lifestyle.
Addressing the residents, Governor Indrasena Reddy Nallu stressed the importance of preserving both physical and mental well-being in old age. He encouraged them to participate regularly in social, cultural, and recreational activities, stating that active engagement with society plays a vital role in leading a happy, healthy, and fulfilling life.
The Governor also conducted a detailed inspection of the shelter home's infrastructure and various facilities provided for the residents. He reviewed the living arrangements and other welfare services aimed at ensuring a safe, comfortable, and dignified environment for retired employees residing at Ashray.
During the visit, Special Secretary Tapan Kumar Das briefed the Governor about the facilities and services available at the retired employees' quarter. He also provided detailed information regarding the residents, the support mechanisms in place, and the department's ongoing efforts to improve the quality of life for senior citizens.
L. Ranchal, Director of the Department of Social Welfare and Social Education, was also present during the Governor's visit. The inspection reflected the administration's commitment to strengthening elderly care and ensuring that welfare institutions continue to provide quality services and a supportive atmosphere for retired employees.
