Agartala Mar 5 (FD) Governor Indrasena Reddy Nallu visited various border areas of Mohanpur subdivision in the West Tripura district today. The visit focused on inspecting developmental projects under central schemes and assessing security arrangements at the Border Outposts (BOPs).
Accompanied by Dr. Vishal Kumar, District Magistrate and Collector of West Tripura, AK Sharma, IG of BSF Tripura Frontier, NS Jamal, Commandant of the 104th BSF Battalion, and Sub-Divisional Magistrate Subhash Dutta, the Governor toured multiple locations.
His visit began at the BSF camp in Taranagar, where he reviewed facilities for jawans, including accommodation, food, drinking water, the signal center, and the armory. He acknowledged the crucial role of BSF personnel in ensuring national security. At the Joy BSF Camp, he inspected firearms and received a briefing on their operational capabilities.
The Governor then visited an irrigation project in the Bijoynagar border area, which supports local agriculture. He also interacted with self-help groups at the Ishanpur Gram Panchayat office and met with residents of Brahmakua and Bhagalpur Gram Panchayats. Discussions centered on government schemes such as PM Kisan, Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana, Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana, Ujjwala Yojana, Har Ghar Bijli, and Jal Jeevan Mission. Additionally, he gathered feedback on education, healthcare, and essential services in border areas.
Emphasizing the government’s commitment to welfare, Governor Nallu urged young people to become self-reliant by learning skills in agriculture and animal husbandry through Krishi Vigyan Kendras. He reaffirmed that development initiatives aim to improve the lives of border residents and ensure the effective implementation of government schemes. FD SB
