Governor Reddy inaugurates Red Cross Blood donation camp in Tripura

Agartala, May 7 (FD) In observance of World Red Cross Day 2025, a blood donation camp was organized today at the Agartala office of the Red Cross Society, Tripura State Branch. The camp was inaugurated by Hon’ble Governor Shri Indrasena Reddy Nallu, who is also the President of the state branch of the Red Cross Society.
The theme for this year’s Red Cross Day, “Keeping Humanity Alive”, was reflected in the event’s purpose and participation. While addressing the gathering, Governor Reddy highlighted blood donation as a powerful symbol of humanity and collective compassion. “Each drop of blood is a lifeline that binds us in the spirit of humanity,” he said. He called on citizens to voluntarily and regularly donate blood to help save lives.
The Governor also praised the often-overlooked efforts of doctors, volunteers, and Red Cross members. He emphasized that the Red Cross plays a crucial role not only in organizing blood donation drives but also in responding to disasters and implementing public health initiatives across the state.
The welcome address was given by Chandan Debnath, Secretary of the Tripura State Branch, while Vice President Paramananda Sarkar Banerjee delivered the vote of thanks. The event was detailed in a press release from the Raj Bhavan, reaffirming the importance of community service and compassion in today’s world. FD SB
