Agartala, Sept 10 (FD) Governor Indrasena Reddy Nallu made a historic visit to the remote village of West Gobindbari in Dhalai district yesterday, becoming the first Governor to set foot in the marginalized area. The visit was met with great enthusiasm by the villagers, who were appreciative of the Governor’s engagement with their community.
During his visit, Governor Nallu inspected the village's infrastructure, exploring some roads both by car and on foot, despite the challenging hill slopes. The Governor was briefed on the critical issues faced by the village, including poor road conditions, inconsistent electricity supply, lack of clean water, and inadequate telecommunication services. He stressed the importance of taking immediate steps to resolve these issues for the welfare of the residents.
Governor Nallu was accompanied by a high-profile delegation, including his Secretary UK Chakma, Dhalai District Magistrate Saju Bahid A., Superintendent of Police Avinash Rai, and other senior officials from the Raj Bhavan and local administrative departments.
During an open dialogue with the villagers, many raised concerns about their ongoing struggles. District Magistrate Saju Bahid outlined the government initiatives already in place and assured the villagers that further measures would be taken to address their grievances and improve their living conditions.
