Government to examine WhatsApp’s username feature over impersonation concerns

The government today said it will examine WhatsApp’s username feature over impersonation concerns. In a statement, the Ministry of Electronics and Information said that it will look into the legal mechanism. This statement came after the Meta-owned messaging platform announced the upcoming feature that will allow users to hide their phone numbers.
