Government invests funds for developments of Kokborok and other minority languages: CM

Agartala, MarĀ 24 (FD) Tripura Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha on Monday said the Government was trying to develop the KokborokĀ language and invested funds for seminars, workshops and for publishing books.
His statement came after the TSF, the student wing of Tipramotha had called off its scheduled programme of a large gathering at Agartala on Monday.
Chief Minister today informed the state assembly that his government was continuously making investments for linguistic developments of the Kokborok and the other languages of the minority community.
Replying to a question brought by Congress MLA, Gopal Roy, he said in the current fiscal (2024-25) the government had allocated Rs.2 crore 16 lakh 78 thousand and Rs. 52 lakhs 98 thousands were supplemented for seminars, workshops and publishing books to support the students for learning in their mother languages.
The TSF on Friday launched a movement by blocking roads in different parts of the state causing inhuman disturbances to common people and they even did not allow students and vehicles of ambulances for passage.
Even they also demonstrated before the Gandhi statue at the Circuit house here for introduction of Roman scripts in Kokborok language in the question papers of Madhyamik and secondary level examinations. However, their movements caused lot of inconveniences.
Even they announced make a bigger gathering in the capital town, but they stopped their movement at the request of the Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha. FD JK
