Replying to a notice by the Chief Whip, Kalayani Roy in the state assembly, Nath said, the Government is installing the PM KUSUM scheme with an intention of doubling the income of the farmers, adding that most of the priority would be given to the tribals living in the ADC areas.
He said, altogether 10,895 solar powered pumps would be installed of which 3616 pumps have already been installed for irrigation in different parts of the different districts.
Nath said the other pumps are on the way of installations which would be lasting for next 25 years, increase crops, and save electricity bills.
The government is also providing a subsidy of up to Rs. 1,19,000 for creating water sources, covering the cost of digging, which is not the case in other states where farmers bear this expense. FD JK
