Gomati DM Tarit Kanti Chakma Wins Prestigious PM Award

Agartala, April 21 (FD) The District Magistrate and Collector of Tripura’s Gomati District, Tarit Kanti Chakma on Monday won the prestigious PM’s Award for Excellence in Public Administration.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi handed over the PM’s award on the occasion of the 17th Civil Service Day in New Delhi.

Tripura Chief Minister Manik Saha appreciated the performance and congratulated Chakma for his achievements.

In a social media post Chief Minister wrote, “Heartfelt congratulations to the people of Gomati district and District Magistrate and Collector Shri Tarit Kanti Chakma on receiving the prestigious PM Excellece Award 2024 for ‘Holistic Development of Districts’!”.

He further said, “This achievement showcases the district’s remarkable progress and unwavering dedication to excellence”.

In the district, over 4500 children were vaccinated under Mission Indradhanush scheme and 3.2 lakh children were brought under the ambit of the Poshan Abhiyan. More than 22000 houses were built under the PMAY in the district.

The District administration distributed more than 3.8 lakh Ayushman cards under the PM Jana Arogya Yojana and more than 5200 beneficiaries enrolled under the PM Vishwakarma Yojana. Besides, the district also earned many more achievements for implementation of the welfare schemes. FD JK
