Agartala, May 01 (FD) In a scathing attack, a Member of Parliament and former Chief Minister of the state, Biplab Kumar Deb, criticized the Communist Party of India (Marxist) for their repeated false claims regarding the crisis of food, water, and treatment in rural areas. Deb dismissed their statements as hackneyed jargon and stereotyped bluster, asserting that CPIM has never wanted development in the state and has created an atmosphere of deprivation.
Deb said that the CPIM's claims about the lack of food, water, and treatment were merely repetitive slogans, which they have been using for the past 25 years. He stated, "They don't want any development. What they are saying now, they said it 25 years ago also." Deb further highlighted that the CPIM's lack of acceptance among the people has forced them to align with the Congress Party to survive politically.
Deb also spoke about the mega health camp he organized in three districts of the state with the help of the state government. He said that around 2,946 patients participated in the camp and that the state's healthcare infrastructure had improved under the current government. He promised to organize similar caps in the future.
Speaking about the Karnataka election, Deb expressed confidence in the Bharatiya Janata Party's (BJP) victory. He said that the people of the state had suffered during the Congress regime due to their alleged corruption.
Deb's comments come at a time when political parties are gearing up for elections in several states in India, including Karnataka. The BJP is currently in power in the state and is seeking another term in office. FD SB JK
