Agartala, Nov 24 (FD) Biplab Deb, who was instrumental for ending the 25 years of Marxists rule in Tripura and victory of BJP in the state, started going door-to-door campaigning to bring the saffron party back in power.
The former Chief Minister and present Rajya Sabha MP Biplab Kumar Deb on Wednesday held a door-to-door campaign in view of the forthcoming 2023 assembly polls.
He visited Hrishi Para area near Pratapgarh English medium school in Ward no 43 of Agartala Municipal Corporation. He was accompanied by Deputy Mayor Manik Das Datta and other local leaders and karyakartas of the party.
He said, the country was going ahead with the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who launched several schemes for uplift of the poor in the country and the people of Tripura are also getting the benefits.
“Five kgs rice per person in every family, water connections, gas connections, social pensions and many more-- people have seen real development under BJP’s tenure”, said Deb.
The former Chief Minister said that the place was a temporary colony for which proper documentation like BPL cards were not done and they would be able to achieve all sorts of benefits from various schemes under state and central government.
“Ensuring inclusive development to the last individual of the society is one of our priorities. In addition, informing them on various issues related to citizen rights, creating awareness about central and state schemes and realizing its benefits are the motto behind holding such campaigns' ', Deb.
Criticizing the Marxists, Deb said even as they show crocodiles’ tear for the pauperized people in reality did very little for their welfare and development in those areas were blatantly neglected.
However, he said developments began in the area only after the BJP government came to power and many roads were developed, facilities for safe drinking reaching the area. OVER
