Agartala, Mar 31 (FD) Former chief secretary of Tripura, Kumar Alak, is eager to voluntarily leave his position as director general of the State Institute of Public Administration and Rural Development (SIPARD). He has already submitted a formal letter stating his wish to take a voluntary retirement with effect from July of this year to the chief secretary, J.K. Sinha, along with a copy to the chief minister Dr. Manik Saha.
He submitted the letter because it must be submitted three months prior to the suggested retirement date in the event that a government employee or officer wishes to retire of his or her own accord.
When Biplab Kumar Deb served as chief minister, Kumar was assigned to the position of chief secretary. However, after Dr. Manik Saha took over as chief minister in May last year, he was transferred to the position of DG, SIPARD, effectively demoting him.
J.K. Sinha took over as joint secretary, succeeding him. According to official sources, Kumar Alak's request for voluntary retirement will be granted because there are no outstanding investigations against him. FD SB JK
