Football fever: Dr Manik Saha, Dr Sambit Patra watch FIFA World Cup final on roadside

Agartala, Dec 19 (FD) Football fever gripped Chief Minister Dr Manik Saha and  BJP National Spokesperson Dr Sambit Patra on the final day of FIFA World Cup match. Both the leaders joined youths and football lovers at Northgate adjacent to Swami Vivekananda Ground here to watch the match on Sunday night.

On behalf of the government, arrangements had been made to watch the match on LED screens at different places in Agartala.

Dr Saha drove his car to the spot, when Patra took the front seat by his side and  both reached at the venue on the roadside  to watch the match on LED screens. No security guards accompanied them during their ride.

The youths present there seemed quite excited to have the Chief Minister amidst them and enjoy the high voltage match along with the football fans.

The Chief Minister in a social media post wrote, “From the enthusiasm and enthusiasm I have seen in the youth towards the game of football, I am sure our boys will excel if given the right platform.”

He said that the state government is continuing efforts in that direction to achieve the goal. FD PD JK
