FM Sitharaman launches TGB’s solar powered mobile ATM

Agartala, July 21 (FD) Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman on Friday inaugurated the solar powered Mobile ATM of Tripura's only rural Bank "Tripura Grameen Bank" at hotel Polo Tower Hotel. From now on, customers of all banks can withdraw money from all mobile ATMs and ATM counters of Tripura Gramin Bank using ATM cards of all banks. These mobile ATMs will be accompanied by one bank associate of the bank to help the rural people. Mobile ATMs will be regularly deployed in remote areas of Tripura to serve customers. Hon'ble Finance Minister then exchanged views with 121 Business Correspondents of Tripura Gramin Bank on how economic development of rural people is possible. Hon'ble Minister lauded Tripura Gramin Bank for its significant role in rural economic development of Tripura.

Note that Tripura Gramin Bank's mobile ATM will be powered by solar energy.

Then the Hon'ble Finance Minister participated in the review meeting of Grameen Banks in the North Eastern region.

Tripura Gramin Bank Chairman Mr. Satendra Singh, CGM Sunil Kumar Chugh, DGM Uday Chandra, Chairman NABARD, General Manager Mr. Shishir Kumar Rahtagi, Mr. Santosh Routh, Senior Manager Sanjay Das, Jeet Bhattacharya and the staff and officers of Tripura Gramin Bank along with the Chairman of North Eastern Grameen Banks were present on this grand occasion.
