Five drug traffickers arrested and huge contraband recovered

Agartala, Feb 25 (FD) Altogether five drug traffickers were nabbed by police in two separate incidents at the capital city and its outskirts, a senior police official said on Tuesday.
Acting on a tip-off, police arrested four persons and recovered 5.2 gms of brown sugar in two raids near Anandamoyee Ashram and College Tilla here.
Sub-divisional Police Officer of the Sadar, Debaprasad Roy said, they also recovered Rs.4000 cash, two mobile phones and a bike bearing a number plate of TR-01-AT 6646 from their possession.
The traffickers were identified as Rabin Debnath, Dupak Das, Ramjan Ali and Rubel Sarkar.
In a separate incident, a contingent of police from Arundhutinagar police station raided a village near the Indo-Bangla border at Gajaria and arrested one Biplab De and recovered huge quantity of Brown Sugar and Escoff from his possession.
However, police did not divulge the quantity of the recovered items so far.
Meanwhile, one Bangladeshi identified as Alef Hossain was also arrested from the village. He was returning to Bangladesh. FD JK
