Agartala, Feb 2 (FD) Tripura police have arrested five persons, including three Bangladeshi nationals and two Indian touts, from the Paiturbazar New Motor Stand area in Kailashahar under Unakoti district.
Kailashahar Police Station Officer-in-Charge Tapas Malakar said a police team in plain clothes was conducting surveillance in the area when they noticed suspicious movement of five persons preparing to leave for Chennai in a Maruti van via Dharmanagar in North Tripura district.

The trio allegedly confessed to having illegally crossed the Bangladesh border to enter India.
The other two accused, Faruk Mia and Abdul Qayyum, both residents of the Rangauti area, were arrested for allegedly facilitating the illegal entry and arranging onward travel to Chennai.
All five accused were brought to Kailashahar Police Station for further questioning. The Maruti van used in the operation has been seized and detained at the police station.
Police officials said the accused are currently being interrogated and an investigation is underway to ascertain whether more persons are involved in the racket. FD JK
