Agartala, Oct 23 (FD) Tripura Fisheries and Animal Resource minister, Sudhangshu Das was taken aback on Wednesday, when he visited the centre of his department at Hezamara, in West Tripura district and discovered that the office was not opened for last six months.
The minister made a surprise visit to the center. “When the office was not opened means the beneficiaries did not receive any kind of assistance from this government centre. The center premises were covered with jungles. The materials required for pisciculture (Fish cultivation) were rotting or damaged and the entire infrastructures built by the government were at the verge of damage”, a government official accompanying him said in a condition of anonymity.
Visibly angry minister ordered the authorities to serve a show cause notice to the center in-charge and he also cautioned that if he does not receive any logical and satisfactory reply from the in-charge, stern actions would be taken on the charge of dereliction of duties. FD JK
