FIH Pro League: Indian women lose 2-4 to Netherlands

In the women’s Hockey FIH Pro League, India lost to World No. 1 Netherlands, 2-4 at the Kalinga Stadium in Bhubaneswar last night. Felice Albers netted twice for the Dutch, in addition to goals from Emma Reijnen and Fay van der Elst.
While Udita Duhan scored a brace for India. Veteran keeper of India Savita featured in her 300th international game and was felicitated by former men’s team keeper PR Sreejesh. Both the teams will again face each other today at the same venue. The match will begin at 05:15 PM.
Earlier, the Indian Men’s team suffered a 2-3 loss against England at the Kalinga Stadium in Bhubaneswar yesterday. The result means England climbed to the top of the Pro League standings with 16 points from seven games, while India’s 12 points from the same number of games have them fourth in the table. Both the teams will again face each other today at the same venue. The match will begin at 07:30 PM.
