Father Held for Allegedly Killing Two Daughters in Dhalai Village

Agartala, June 27 (FD) A 34-year-old man has been detained for allegedly beating his two minor daughters to death following a domestic dispute at Ultachhara Bru Rehabilitation Village under Gandacherra subdivision in Tripura's Dhalai district on Saturday.

The accused, identified as Lalchunaoma Bru, was taken into custody by personnel of Gandacherra Police Station soon after the incident. Police have launched a detailed investigation into the case.

The victims have been identified as Rishika Kha Hamti Bru (13) and Priha Smaina Bru (4), both daughters of the accused.

According to preliminary police findings, Lalchunaoma Bru allegedly returned home in an intoxicated condition, following which an argument broke out between him and his wife, Rontarung Bru (32). During the altercation, the children reportedly began crying. In a fit of rage, the accused allegedly attacked them with a wooden object, inflicting fatal injuries.

Police said the accused has been detained, and the bodies have been sent for post-mortem examination. A criminal case has been registered, and investigators are examining the circumstances leading to the incident.
