Agartala, Sept 28 (FD) The government of Tripura is embarking on a significant expansion of its educational landscape with the establishment of 10 new colleges and universities across the state. These initiatives reflect the government's commitment to enhancing educational opportunities for its citizens.
Notably, the Dhamma Dipa International Buddhist University Act, 2022, has already been in effect for the past two years. Additionally, the State Legislature recently passed the Techno India University, Tripura Bill, 2023, and the Aryavart International University, Tripura Bill, 2023, paving the way for the creation of private universities in the state.
Additionally, the State Legislature has passed bills for the creation of two private universities, namely Techno India University, Tripura, and Aryavart International University, Tripura. The former, known as TIU Tripura, is already making strides in infrastructural development in the Malay Nagar area near Agartala city.
Furthermore, the state government has issued a 'Letter of Intent' (LOI) to six organizations, including the Ayushmati Society, Madhya Pradesh, and the World Education Mission, New Delhi, for the establishment of private universities.
Additionally, a Kolkata-based company is building a modern private medical college and hospital near Agartala, known as the 'Tripura Santiniketan Medical College and Hospital,' with the foundation stone ceremony held on September 25, attended by Deputy Speaker Ramprasad Pal. This expansion marks a significant step forward in Tripura's education and healthcare sectors.FD SB
