In European Football, Real Madrid routed arch-rivals Barcelona 4-0 to reach the Copa del Rey final, thanks to Karim Benzema's hat-trick. It was Benzema's second hat-trick in successive games after achieving the feat last Sunday against Real Valladolid. It was also for the first time since January 1995 that Real Madrid defeated Barcelona by at least a four-goal margin. 
Barca, who were looking for a fourth successive Clasico victory this season, looked set for the final having edged a 1-0 win in the first leg of the semi-final in Madrid last month. But, after dominating the early stages of the second leg, they fell apart in an unlikely fashion to lose 4-1 on aggregate.

Real Madrid will next face Osasuna in the Final on 6th May at the Cartuja Stadium in Sevilla.
