Enhanced security measures in Tripura as Independence Day approaches

Agartala, Aug 14 (FD) Preparations are in full swing in Tripura as the state gears up to celebrate the 77th Independence Day. In light of the upcoming festivities, security has been significantly increased, according to a statement from a senior police officer.
Security arrangements have been meticulously arranged at the Assam Rifles Ground, where Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha will proudly unfurl the national flag. Dignitaries, including ministers, legislators, and high-ranking officials, are expected to attend the event.
Assistant Inspector General (Law and Order) Jyotishman Das Chowdhury conveyed that all police stations have been directed to maintain vigilance. The Border Security Force (BSF) has also increased its watch along the 856-km international border with Bangladesh to counteract any potential cross-border threats.
Vehicle screenings have been initiated at all entry points, including Agartala, to ensure a peaceful atmosphere. To further guarantee the safety of the occasion, extra security personnel will be stationed at critical locations.
