Eleven Bangladeshis and three Indian detained by BSF

Agartala, Oct 28 (FD) The Border Security Force (BSF) nabbed eleven Bangladeshis and three Indian citizens from different places of Tripura on Saturday.
Sources in the BSF said, acting on a tip-off they raided the Agartala Railway Station and detained nine people.
“On preliminary investigation the detained persons admitted that they are from Bangladesh.They were planning to move to Kolkata for permanent settlement in India,” the sources said.
Meanwhile, six persons, including two children, were held in a separate operation of the BSF troops at Belonia under South Tripura district, reports Indian Express. They were held while the group was trying to enter Indian territory through the unfenced and riverine gap of the Muhuri river.
Preliminary investigation revealed that the individuals included three Bangladeshi nationals, all residents of Chandpur district of Bangladesh and three Indian nationals from South Tripura district.
“The BSF has stepped up domination and operation along the border and in the hinterland to prevent infiltration and exfiltration and trans-border crime,” the BSF Public Relations Officer said.
In South Tripura district, the police said that three women entered the state crossing the international boundary through Belonia while another woman went there to receive them.
“The BSF handed over these four women (two Bangladeshi and two Indian) to us. One of them is a minor and we sent her to a juvenile home. We have forwarded the rest to court. With an uptick in the number of infiltrations, we are investigating to find out who are behind it,” a police officer from the Belonia police station said. FD JK
