Eleven Bangladeshi arrested at Agartala Station for illegal entry

Agartala, Jun 30 (FD) Government Railway Police (GRP) has arrested eleven Bangladeshi nationals from Agartala railway station for entering into Indian territory without any legal documents.
Officer in Charge (OC), Tapas Das said, acting on a tip-off that many Bangladeshi nationals had illegally crossed the border into the country in Sipahijala district, a sleuth GRP conducted several raids in the Agartala railway station and arrested eleven Bangladeshis.
“There were several groups, who attempted to go to Bengaluru, Kolkata, Delhi and Chennai. In preliminary interrogation they stated that they entered into the country with the help of some Indian and Bangladeshi touts. Today they were produced before a court and hearing is on”, Das told reporters.
He said, apparently it was understood that they were going to Indian metros in search of jobs, but the possibility of human trafficking could not be ruled out.
Sources in the police department said Tripura has become a corridor for Bangladeshis to enter in the country and they regularly use it.
GRP had nabbed two Bangladeshi nationals from the same spot on June 27 last. FD JK
