Agartala, Aug 30 (FD) Tripura Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha on Sunday attended the 137th episode of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s monthly radio programme Mann Ki Baat at the Muktadhara Auditorium in Agartala along with members of the public and other dignitaries.
Industries and Commerce Minister Santana Chakma, Agartala Municipal Corporation Mayor and MLA Dipak Majumder and other dignitaries were also present during the programme.
In the latest episode, Prime Minister Narendra Modi discussed several issues of national importance and highlighted inspiring success stories from different parts of the country. Key topics included the Nasha Mukt Yuva Abhiyan, success stories of beneficiaries under PM SVANidhi, Mission ShaktiSat, and the importance of supporting indigenous products through the Vocal for Local campaign.
The Prime Minister also appealed to citizens to purchase Made in India products during the festive season, encouraging local businesses, entrepreneurs and artisans while promoting self-reliance.
Speaking after the programme, Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha said that every episode of Mann Ki Baat carries messages capable of inspiring people to take up meaningful and innovative initiatives.
Referring to Prime Minister Modi’s appreciation of a website created by young man Krishna Seshadri, Saha said that the Tripura government would extend support to anyone interested in documenting and presenting the state’s history through research-based initiatives.
The Chief Minister also highlighted the state government’s efforts to achieve a drug-free Tripura, in line with the Prime Minister’s vision of building a drug-free India. He said the government is focusing on skill development, strengthening local industries, promoting Vocal for Local and creating alternative livelihood and employment opportunities.
Dr. Saha said these initiatives are aimed at empowering people and making Tripura more self-reliant while translating the messages highlighted through Mann Ki Baat into action at the state level. FD SB
