Devastating fire breaks out at Aralia Panchabari area, twelve houses gutted

Agartala, Jan 25 (FD) At least 12 shops with all commodities inside them were gutted last night when a devastating fire suddenly engulfed the area at Aralia market on the other side of the river Howrah, police said.

Police said the fire broke out at around 2-30 PM and when the locals rushed to the spot it engulfed the area and at least 12 shops were burnt to ashes.

The shop owners, who lost their properties, were helplessly gazing at the flames, but could not do anything.

A few fire tenders rushed to spot and extinguished the devastating fire, which caused a loss of at least Rs. 35 lakhs.

Police said the cause of the fire, perhaps were due to explosion of a few gas cylinders.

A pall of gloom had descended in the Panchabari area. FD JK
