Deputy Chief Minister attends the closing ceremony of State Wildlife conservation week

Agartala, Oct 31 (FD) State Wildlife conservation week comes to an end with a closing ceremony attended by Deputy Chief Minister of Tripura Jishnu Dev Varma.
The closing ceremony was held on Saturday at the picnic grounds of Sepahijala Sanctuary on the initiative of the forest department.
At the occasion Deputy CM emphasized on the importance of conservation of wildlife to maintain biodiversity and ecological balance and also said, “Wildlife and sanctuaries are responsible for attracting tourism. They play an important role in the development of the tourism industry. Therefore, the next generation should be made more aware about the importance of wildlife along with conservation of environment.”
The occasion was attended by Sipahijala district council chairperson Supriya Das Datta, Sipahijala District Magistrate Biswashree B and Sepahijala Sanctuary warden Biswajit Das and others. The welcome speech was delivered by chief wildlife warden Praveen Aggarwal.
A mesmerizing cultural program was organized at the closing ceremony of state wildlife conservation week where local artists performed regional dance forms like Hajagiri, Bihu and Masak Sumani. Winners of quiz and debate competitions were awarded as a part of the state wildlife conservation week. FD DM
