CWG Gold Medallist Asmita Dey Named Brand Ambassador of South Tripura Nasha Mukt Premier League

Agartala, Aug 19 (FD) Commonwealth Games gold medallist judoka Asmita Dey has been appointed as the Brand Ambassador of the South Tripura Nasha Mukt Premier League Football Tournament 2026, an initiative aimed at promoting sports and encouraging young people to lead healthy, drug-free lives.
The South Tripura District Administration has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Dey for the tournament, which is set to enter its fourth season.
South Tripura District Magistrate Md Sajjad P said the association reflects the administration’s efforts to harness the power of sports to inspire young people and steer them away from substance abuse and other harmful habits.
Dey, who recently brought laurels to Tripura and the country by winning a gold medal in judo at the Commonwealth Games, is expected to use her sporting journey and achievements to motivate young people participating in and associated with the tournament.
The district administration said her journey from the Commonwealth Games podium to becoming an advocate for a drug-free society embodies the values of discipline, determination and perseverance.
Her association with the Nasha Mukt Premier League is expected to encourage young athletes to choose sports over drugs, pursue their ambitions with dedication and build a healthier future.
The initiative is part of the district administration’s broader effort to use sporting platforms as a means of creating awareness against substance abuse and promoting positive engagement among the youth. FD JK
