CPI-M Tripura state secretary Jiten Chowdhury and 37 others file nominations today

Agartala, January 27 (FD): 38 candidates, out of total 46, including the CPI (M) state secretary and the projected chief minister of the state Jiten Chowdhury today filed nominations for the 60-member state assembly in Tripura.

Chowdhury filed his nomination from Sabroom assembly constituency amidst great keenness among people owing allegiance to both Congress and CPI (M).

The party is yet to field its candidates in Khowai, Asharambari , Kalyanpur and Krishnapur assembly constituencies because of certain paper related issues and they will submit nominations on 30th January.

Sources in Forward Block said that in Badharghat constituency names of Arghyajit Das, small businessman, and Chandrasekhar Das have been shortlisted and the names will be finalized in a meeting of the left front. FD JK
