Agartala, Mar 31 (FD) The opposition CPI-M in Tripura on Monday observed the Martyrs day and anti-terrorism day on the occasion of the death of the former health minister Bimal Sinha.
The state secretary of the CPI-M Jitendra Chowdhury said, those who are responsible for murder of Bimal Sinha are now with the ruling party and indirectly providing forces to them.
“When they could not defeat the Left Front democratically had resorted to terrorist activities, communal rhetoric and other unlawful methods to undermine the democracy”, Chowdhury said during observance of the function.
Sinha was murdered by the insurgents on March 31, 1998, when he was the Health Minister of the state. Since then the day is observed by the party as ant-terrorism day and this year it observed the 28th martyrs day.
Chowdhury and his fellow comrades today observed the day at the CPI-M party office.
Sinha became a minister after winning from the Kamalpur assembly constituency by a huge margin.
Chowdhury further stated that the All India conference of the party would be held in Madurai on April 2, which would also review the state political situation in the conference. FD JK
