The delegation comprised Manik Sarkar, CPIM state secretary Jitendra Chaudhury, Tripura Left Front convener Narayan Kar, former minister Manik Dey, former assembly Deputy Speaker Pabitra Kar and former CPI(M) legislator, Sudhan Das.
Sarkar said, Chief Minister informed the delegation that his government was taking an unbiased role on violence and illegal activities but said the CM's assurances aren't reflected on ground.
Sarkar, who is also the former Chief Minister of the state, said the delegation suggested that the CM discuss with administrative and police officials at the state, district and other levels and ensure that the administration maintains an impartial view on the people.
Sarkar said that the Chief Minister, who is also the home minister of the state, assured to take appropriate measures in dealing with the issues.
"We have to wait since the CM has just taken charge of the new government a month ago. If he is unable to regularize the situation, we shall then decide about next course of actions", he said. FD JK
