Contractual employees of TNGCL to get structured salaries: MD

Agartala, Feb 26 (FD) In a significant development, the authorities of the Tripura Natural Gas Company Ltd has decided to introduce structured pay system for its contractual employees.
Sources in TNGCL said there was a time when the salaries of the contractual employees were determined by the contractors, which often led to a conflict, but with the authorities coming to their aids the system is going to be abolished.
“The situation is going to change when the Managing Director of the TNGCL, Pralay Patra paid heed to the problems of the contractual workers. He is of the view that the salaries were earlier decided between the contractors’ and employees, which is unprecedented. After I took over as the MD of the organization had decided for transparency and bring them under structured system”, sources said.
Now onwards, the employees would be categorized into four groups like highly skilled, skilled and semi skilled and unskilled.
“There are many employees despite working for many years could not earn skills due to their formal education. Now we have decided to face those employees before a skilled technical expert, who would decide their categories.
He said the TNGCL would follow all the central guidelines for the employees and finalise this development from March 1. FD JK
