Agartala, Aug 07 (FD) In an endeavor to enhance scholarship assistance and academic support for students, particularly those hailing from religious minority backgrounds, Common Services Centers (CSCs) across various districts of Tripura are diligently working to authenticate biometrics.
This initiative, mandated by a central directive, seeks to authenticate the biometric data of heads of institutions, nodal officers, teachers, and students by the end of August.
The Manager of CSC, Gourab Deb, in West Tripura, revealed that the authentication process is being conducted in two phases. The authentication of heads of institutions and nodal officers is set to conclude by August 10, while the biometric authentication of minority institution students is scheduled for completion by August 25.
The entire process is being carried out through the National Student Scholarship Portal, with support from both the central and state governments.
Deb highlighted the significance of this initiative, acknowledging the limited time available for the authentication process and emphasizing the dedicated efforts being put in to meet the deadline.
The state government of Tripura, in addition to the central scholarships, offers a range of financial aid to various categories of students, including SC, ST, OBC, minorities, and female students. Despite some delays, officials assure the timely roll-out of benefits for the current academic year. Pre-Matric and Post-Matric scholarships, merit-by-means scholarships, and other incentives are part of the government's commitment to fostering educational growth and inclusivity. FD SB
