Agartala, Apr 23 (FD) Tripura Chief Minister Manik Saha on Tuesday brought a scathing attack against the INDI Bloc for confusing the people of the country in the name of saving the constitution and stated that the constitution is ‘only safe in the hand of the Prime Minister Narendra Modi’.
Addressing a massive election campaign at Fatikroy in Unakoti district in support of BJP candidate Kriti Singh Debbarma, Saha said, the leaders of the opposition INDIA Bloc were wearing the musk of democracy and talking big about'saving the constitution’.
“There were the maximum incidences of violations of the Constitution of India during the Emergency declared by the former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi. Later, many Sikhs were killed by the Congress people when Rajib Gandhi was their leader. Then where was the constitution, and now they talk big about saving the constitution?" Saha said in the rally.
He said the constitution is safe in the hands of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who is trying to bring all sections of the people of the country under the purview of the constitution and solve their problems.
Saha also pointed out that the abolition of Article 370 in Kashmir is a bold step towards saving the constitution.
He said it was ridiculous when the communists, who have tied up with the Congress in the state, openly say that they want to establish ‘dictatorship of the proletariat’ if they could come to power by organising revolution under the leadership of the labouring class’.
The Chief Minister, who is also the Chief Campaigner of the BJP, termed the unity of the Congress and the Communists an “opportunistic step for political convenience," which would be shattered after the BJP gets a massive margin and Modi becomes for the third term.
He mentioned that PM Modi always gives guarantees and emphasises the development of janajati.
“We have seen the rule of the CPI (M) and Congress. We have witnessed their 35 years of governance and their use of Janajati as a vote bank. But when the BJP came, the real development of the Janajati people started. PM Modi is working for the development of the Janajati people in our state. The CPI(M) and Congress have now come into an alliance. We have seen how they resorted to violence during elections. The INDI alliance is now talking about democracy. Many people were jailed during the emergency, many were murdered, and violence during elections was rampant. Where was democracy at that time?” he asked. FD JK
