Agartala, July 27 (FD) In a compelling speech at the 75th Amrit Mahotsav of Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (AVBP) in Agartala, Chief Minister Prof. Dr. Manik Saha vehemently criticized the attempts made by CPIM to impose communist and Chinese ideologies on students in schools and colleges during the 1970s. Dr. Saha emphasized the immense potential of the youth as a vital resource for the nation's growth and development.
The Chief Minister highlighted India's greatest asset: its young population, which constitutes approximately 65 percent of the total populace. He proudly acknowledged that Prime Minister Narendra Modi, too, recognized the significance of the youth in shaping the nation's destiny. However, he pointed out that during the 1970s, educational institutions suffered from inadequate conditions and ideological indoctrination. Students were subjected to teachings from the 'Red Book' and were influenced by communist ideologies like Marxism, Leninism, and Chinese principles.
In empowering young people, Dr. Saha lauded the Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) for its revolutionary work. The ABVP's commitment to serving the nation and promoting a stronger India has helped the current generation break free from the destructive mindset of communism. With their motivation, students have emerged as independent thinkers, unsaved by ideological dogma.
The Chief Minister concluded his speech by urging everyone to work diligently, always considering the future, and striving to leave a lasting positive impact on society. By fostering an environment of open thinking and empowerment, the collective efforts of the nation can be directed towards progress and prosperity. FD SB
