Agartala, Oct 17 (FD) Chief Minister Dr Manik Saha on Monday inaugurated 15 new Log Huts at Narkelkunja in Dumbur Lake, one of the top tourist destinations in Tripura.
Dumbur is a vast lake of 41 sq km, which houses 48 islands , where tourists can experience unique feeling of an overnight stay. Besides, different sport activities and two Banana boats were also launched during the programme.
Addressing the programme, the Chief Minister said that his government is working sincerely to develop all tourist spots of the state with modern facilities.
In a twit the Chief Minister expressed hope that the new Log Huts would attract more tourists at Narkelkunja.
He wrote, “15 new Log Huts built at Narkelkunja are now open for tourists. Today inaugurated the new facility in presence of Hon'ble Tourism Minister Shri @Pranajitsinghar , MP Shri @RebatiTripura & other dignitaries. The Log Huts will now attract more tourists at Narkelkunja.”
Dr Saha also mentioned that eight more Log Huts are being developed in the beautiful island of Dumboor lake.
Dr. Saha said, he invited the union ministers of the country to visit Dumboor and Narkelkunja. The Chief Minister said, around 5 lakh domestic and international tourists visit Tripura every year, therefore initiatives are being taken to attract more tourists.
Earlier, the Tourism department introduced Water Scooter ride (JetSki) and other activities at Narkelkunja to make it more attractive. Tourism Minister Pranajit Singha Roy, MP Rebati Tripura and other dignitaries attended the inaugural ceremony held at Narkelkunja, one of the most beautiful tourist locations in the state.
MLA Parimal Debbarma, MDC Bhumikananda Reang, police and administrative officials of Dhalai district and others were also present in the programme. FD PD JK
