CM hands over cheques to the brilliant students, who clinched IAS prelim

Agartala, Sept 11 (FD) In his continuous endevour to encourage students, who have made marks for brilliance, Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha on Monday handed over cheques of Rs 5 lakh each to three youths who have cleared the prelims under “Chief Minister Special Scheme for UPSC exams”.
He said, since the “Chief Minister’s Special Scheme for UPSC exams” was launched in 2019-20 financial years four youths have been benefitted from the scheme in last three years.
The Higher Education department made an enlistment of the three shining youths, who are Joy Debnath of Santirbazar, Jyotishman Chakma of Abhoynagar and Victor Debbarma of Krishnanagar and the Chief Minister handed over the cheques to their guardians.
A student having his family income less than Rs 10 lakh per year and being a permanent resident of the state can avail the scheme.
Satabdee Majumder was the first girl, who was awarded the benefit is a full fledge IAS officer now and has also got her posting. Three more brilliants students have also enjoyed the benefit.
Those who get the scholarship can also get Rs.20, 000 more if he can clear the main exam. FD JK
