Agartala, Mar 1 (FD) Tripura Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha on Saturday said that the state Government has attached maximum importance on building infrastructures in the state to provide all kinds of ease of lives to the people of the state.
Laying the foundation stone for an eight storied building for SDO office here he said, the Government has earmarked Rs. 7000 crores in the last budget of the state for development of the infrastructures and the government wants that all development works are performed by using the proper technology and proper planning.
He said when a building is being built all facilities including the number of toilets should be there and the building should be properly made.
“Today in the morning I laid the foundation stone for a project on building artificial limbs for the divyang people, who are otherwise able. The Ministry of DoNER has sanctioned Rs. 45 crores. This is the first of its kind in the North-East and the artificial limbs would be distributed to the entire North-East”, he said.
He further said that the state government was building big roads, many motor stands by using modern technology and at least seven football grounds with artificial turf are also being built.
Saha, who himself was a professor of Tripura Medical College said, works for a new dental college is being built at a cost of Rs. 202 crores and a de-addiction centre at a cost of Rs.190 crores by the aid of the ministry of the DoNER.
He said that nine super specialty blocks are being built at the Indira Gandhi Medical hospital at a cost of Rs. 250 crores.
Saha said Bande Bharat Express would soon be started from Tripura and connect Guwahati and Intercity express would also be started soon.
He said, “The newly built airport here is the best in the North-East, which could be declared as an international airport and would connect Chittagong in Bangladesh. But due to the troubles in the neighbouring country that could not be done”.
Saha said development is the mantra of killing all troubles and ‘we are committed to do this’. FD JK
