Agartala, Apr 8 (FD) Tripura’s healthcare services are witnessing notable improvement under the leadership of Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha.
During the "Mukhyamantri Samipeshu" (Meet the Chief Minister) program, Dr. Saha addressed the grievances and needs of people from different parts of the state and provided crucial assistance in the form of medical aid, financial support, and Ayushman Cards.
The Chief Minister, as part of his routine at his official residence, interacted directly with the public to hear their issues. During the session, he urged citizens to utilize the government’s improved healthcare infrastructure and directed concerned officials to extend full support to those in urgent need of help.
Among the attendees was Priya Debbarma from Labanya Chowdhury Para in Khowai, who suffered serious burn injuries. The Chief Minister instructed Dr. Shankar Chakraborty, Medical Superintendent of GBP Hospital, to ensure her immediate treatment.
Plaban Bhowmik from South Jolaibari sought support for his daughter Suprita Bhowmik, who suffers from thalassemia. Dr. Saha promptly sanctioned financial aid and essential medicines through the Department of Social Welfare and Social Education.
Motilal Debbarma, a tomtom driver from Ujan Abhoynagar in Agartala, came seeking help for his ailing son. The Chief Minister facilitated the issuance of an Ayushman Card under the Chief Minister Jan Arogya Yojana and instructed GBP Hospital to provide necessary care.
In a heart-wrenching case, Rupali Das from Lembuchhara, a widow whose home was completely destroyed by fire, appealed for help. The Chief Minister assured financial assistance for her son and requested the SDM to help recover her burnt documents.
Other individuals, including Pranto Shil from Barjala, Raju Mia from Ramnagar, and Shipra Chakraborty from Bamutia, received immediate medical support after their documents were verified. An Ayushman Card was also arranged for Pranto Shil’s father’s treatment.
Assistance was similarly extended to Chandan Debnath of Lankamura, Rukhiya Begum from Bishalgarh, Laxmi Banik and Mukta Acharya Das from Bhattapukur, and Sudhir Chandra Majumdar of Town Bardowali.
The Chief Minister also instructed the Secretary of the Department of Social Welfare and Social Education, Tapas Roy, to arrange widow pension benefits for Madhabi Sinha of Kailashahar.
Senior officials present included Kiran Gitte, Secretary of Health and Family Welfare; Apurba Roy, Secretary to the Chief Minister; Dr. Samit Roy Chowdhury, Dr. Shankar Chakraborty, Dr. Shirmani Debbarma, and Dr. Debashree Debbarma.
Dr. Saha’s active engagement highlights the government’s commitment to providing responsive and inclusive healthcare support for every citizen in need. FD SB JK
