Agartala, Mar 14 (FD) Tripura Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha on Friday distributed Scooty to the 15 college students as part of the implementation of the Mukhyamatri Kanya Atmanirbhar Yojana in a function at the Rabindra Shatabarshiki Bhaban here.
The scheme was announced by the Union Health Minister and the BJP’s national president, J P Nadda in a public meeting here recently.
In the first phase, fifteen girl students of different government run colleges received the papers, helmets and the keys from the hand of the Chief Minister. Earlier it was decided that 140 girls would be given the scooty, who had passed class twelve and admitted to colleges.
Chief Minister in his inaugural speech said that this was only the beginning and all the eligible students would be brought under this scheme.
“Our priority is empowering the women of the state and we have crossed many milestones and such programme would continue”, he said.
In another event Chief Minister felicitated six nursing students, who have learnt Japanese language and would be going to Japan to attend jobs there as nurses.

Today felicitated six nursing caregivers under the Specified Skill Workers Scheme, who are set to embark on a journey to Japan after completing a nine-month Japanese language course.
Under the Mukhyamantri Dakhyata Prakalpa and the MoU with Japan and Skill Development, Tripura is paving the way for more opportunities in the global workforce.
