CM directed police to take stern actions against the culprits irrespective of party affiliations

Agartala, Sept 9 (FD) Tripura Chief Minister Dr Manik Saha has instructed Tripura police to take stern action against culprits without seeing their political affiliation and put all lawbreakers behind the bars even if he is a member or activist of ruling BJP.
This information was divulged to the journalists by Anurag Ji, the officiating Director General of police Tripura, when the journalists met him with their demands for arresting the culprits who had attacked four journalists last night near the Agartala old motor stand.
Anurag further informed that the journalists that three culprits had already been arrested and investigation is on. In case more persons are involved in the incident of attacking journalists, they would also be brought to the book.
The journalists who were attacked by the ruling BJP affiliated goons are Prasenjit Bhattacharya, Mihir Lal Sarkar, Pranab Shil, Bijoy Singha Roy etc.
Journalists during their deliberation also requested the DG that charges should be framed in a proper way so that the culprits are convicted.
They also suggested that all the cases filed by the journalists should be brought in one file and review why in any such case, not a single culprit was punished.
They also put forward suggestions that basic law and order situation in the state more particularly in the capital city should be further improved and the incidents related to drinking of liquor at mid night should be stopped. FD JK
