Agartala, Dec 20 (FD) Tripura Chief Minister Dr Manik Saha today heavily came down on Tipra Motha, allegedly for its divisive politics and spoiling the harmony between the tribals and non-tribals of the state.
In a programme at Pencharthal in North Tripura district, Dr Saha, in an oblique reference to Tipra Motha, which had long been demanding for ‘Greater Tipra land’ by carving out the Tripura Tribal Areas Autonomous District Council (TTAADC) said, “Some quarters were trying to create a division. The tribals and non Tribals are living in the state with harmony for a long time. But they are trying to bring division amongst us, which is not acceptable at all”.
He said, the JP government is an impartial government, which is trying to deliver the fruits of development and good governance to people irrespective of any political affiliations.
Dr Saha claimed that the BJP was only the government which is clean and impartial and maintains good relations with common masses.
Without naming Congress party, he said, in seventies there was government which was ‘indisciplined’ and taking a jibe at the Marxists he said, in eighties there was a government which indulged in murder and creating terror.
That party (Marxists) had also resorted to nepotism and was partisan in nature in distribution of government jobs, but the BJP government had never judged colour of party in delivering governance.
He further claimed that there was no democracy in the state for 35 years before BJP formed government in 2018.
“There was no democracy in the state for 35 years when an undisciplined party and a party indulging in terror ruled the state and the two parties have formed a single party which is now ruling the state of West Bengal,” he said after laying the foundation stone for Kumarghat supermarket 1 and 2.
Addressing the programme, Dr Saha highlighted several developmental initiatives undertaken by the ruling government.
He claimed that the margin of development that the people of the state witnessed since the BJP-led state government formed in the state was not done during the last 75years.
In this connection he highlighted developmental initiatives taken in the fields of various sectors including transportation and connectivity, law and order situation and empowerment of women.
Commenting on the mass gathering during Prime Minister Narendra Modi's visit to Swami Vivekananda Maidan on Sunday, he said that he had never seen such a large gathering at any event in his life.
During his visit Dr Saha also inaugurated a 50-seated ST Girls Hostel and Library at Ambedkar College in Fatikroy.
He also inaugurated Shantipur Primary Health Center in North district. FD PD JK
