CM announces recruitment of 1,100 personnel, stresses modernization

Agartala, July 18 (FD) Chief Minister Manik Saha on Saturday reaffirmed the state government's commitment to transforming the Tripura Police into a technology-driven, efficient, and people-friendly force. He also announced the upcoming recruitment of over 1,100 personnel to further strengthen the department.
Addressing the passing-out parade of 469 constables and one Tripura State Rifles (TSR) jawan at the Police Training Academy in R.K. Nagar, the Chief Minister urged the newly inducted personnel to serve sincerity, honesty, and dedication.
"We are continuously working to modernise the police force by strengthening its technological capabilities, improving efficiency, and making it more citizen-centric," Saha said, adding that these values are what earn respect in society.
Highlighting the state's rich policing legacy, the Chief Minister noted that Tripura’s erstwhile rulers had established an organized administrative and policing system as early as the 13th century, while the modern structure of the Tripura Police came into existence in 1965.
He recalled that the Tripura Police was previously conferred the prestigious President’s Colour in recognition of its outstanding role in successfully combating nearly three decades of insurgency, a feat that reflects the force's deep professionalism.
To further augment the force, Saha announced that the state will soon initiate the process to recruit 218 sub-inspectors and 916 constables.
Emphasizing transparency, he maintained that the government ensures a strictly fair and merit-based selection process. He noted that the day's graduates had successfully met all prescribed eligibility criteria and completed a rigorous, year-long training program.
Saha concluded by stressing the need for continuous skill development, urging personnel to regularly upgrade their capabilities to effectively counter the evolving nature of modern crime.
The ceremony was attended by Chief Secretary J.K. Sinha, Director General of Police Anurag, and other senior civil and police officials. FD JK
