Classes to be arranged for lower kindergarten students: Minister

Agartala, Aug 23 (FD) A new scheme under the Tribal Welfare Department has been taken up, through which supplementary education for elementary classes will be arranged for the students of lower kindergarten to class V with modern education tactics.
He said that three centers would be set up in each ADC village or its outlying areas and a total of 300 centers would be set up across the state.
Chowdhury said, supplementary education or coaching will help the poor students of those areas.
As per the scheme minimum 15 students are required to run a centre while there is no upper limit.
The ICA minister said, the scheme will generate source of income for 300 teachers as well as the teachers who will teach in the centers will get Rs 215 per day and they can teach 25 days in each month.

The state cabinet also approved the draft rehabilitation policy for ‘Children in Street Selection’ in Tripura under Social Welfare Department of the state government, the ICA Minister said.
He said, through the ‘Children in Street Selection’ initiative altogether 6000 street boys will be selected and from them short listed children would be send to Orphans or NGOs.
According to Chowdhury, the purpose of this initiative is to prevent street children from engaging in any unsocial activities.
He said, there are total 41 orphanages in the state in which total 843 children are inmate. FD PD JK
