Chintan Shivir in Dehradun Concludes with Key Policy Insights on Social Empowerment

The two-day Chintan Shivir, organised by the Union Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment in Dehradun, concluded today. Representatives from both the central and state governments deliberated on the better implementation of various schemes.

With this, the participant states also shared their experiences and challenges on ground issues like social empowerment, the implementation of respective drug-free campaigns, the Divyang rehabilitation scheme and the rehabilitation of people involved in panhandling.

Union Minister of Social Justice and Empowerment Dr Virendra Kumar emphasised that concrete suggestions have emerged from the 2-day conclave towards cooperation and improvement in policy making. With better coordination between the state and central governments, the schemes can be delivered effectively.
